This Account and Data Deletion Policy explains how users may request deletion of their App account and associated personal data, what information may be deleted, anonymised or retained, and how deletion affects subscriptions, credits, downloads, community content, store-connected features and legal records.
Users should read this Policy together with our Terms and Conditions of Use and Privacy Policy.
Deleting an App account may permanently remove access to paid or free App features, community content, credits, downloads and membership benefits.
1. Purpose and Scope
This Policy applies to The Secrets of Decoupage mobile application, connected website services, membership features, community areas, Project Helper, credits, downloads, store-connected features and related services (together, the "App" or "Services").
The Policy applies to requests to delete an App account and associated personal data. It does not replace our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect personal data.
Where a user has also placed orders, purchased subscriptions, redeemed credits, uploaded community content or used third-party services, some information may need to be handled under additional terms, platform rules or legal obligations.
2. How Users Can Request Account Deletion
Users may request deletion of their App account by using the account deletion option made available inside the App, where technically available, or by contacting us using the contact details below.
- In-app route: Account / Settings / Delete Account, or the equivalent account deletion route made available in the App.
- Email route: aramedultd@gmail.com, using the subject line "Account deletion request".
- Web route: where we provide a website deletion request page or support form, users may submit the request through that page.
Users should submit deletion requests from the email address linked to their App account where possible. If a request is submitted from another email address, we may need additional verification before processing the request.
3. Identity Verification and Security
Before deleting an account, we may take reasonable steps to verify that the person making the request is the account holder or is legally authorised to act on behalf of the account holder.
Verification may include asking the user to confirm the account email, recent account activity, relevant order information or other information reasonably necessary to protect the account from unauthorised deletion.
We may refuse or delay deletion where we cannot reasonably verify the requester, where the request appears fraudulent, abusive, unsafe, unlawful or where deletion could compromise the rights or safety of another person.
4. What Account Deletion Means
When an App account deletion request is accepted and processed, we will delete, anonymise, deactivate or remove access to account-related data where required and where we are not legally or legitimately required to retain it.
Depending on the user account and App usage, deletion may include removal or anonymisation of:
- Account profile information, such as name, nickname, email address and account identifiers
- App profile settings, preferences and saved App-only settings
- App community profile visibility
- Project Helper history where linked to the deleted account, unless retained for safety, abuse prevention or legal reasons
- Uploaded project content where deletion is technically available and not required for safety, legal, moderation, evidence or rights-protection reasons
- Comments, reactions, likes, saved guides and App-only activity records, subject to technical and legal limitations
- App-only membership records where they are no longer needed for billing, accounting, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, legal compliance or platform compliance
5. Data That May Be Retained
Account deletion does not always mean that every piece of information connected to the user is immediately erased from every system. We may retain certain information where retention is necessary, lawful or required by applicable law, platform rules, tax rules, accounting rules, consumer protection obligations, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, safety, security or enforcement of our rights.
Information that may be retained includes:
- Order records, invoices, payment confirmations, shipping records, tax records and accounting records
- Subscription purchase, renewal, cancellation, refund, chargeback or billing records
- Records of credits issued, redeemed, expired, reversed or cancelled
- Records needed to prevent fraud, abuse, duplicate account misuse, promotion misuse or chargeback abuse
- Moderation records, user reports, safety reports, account enforcement records and records relating to harmful conduct
- Records relating to copyright, intellectual property, legal claims, complaints or disputes
- Records that we must keep to comply with App Store, Google Play, Shopify, payment provider or legal obligations
- Limited backup copies until they are overwritten or deleted in accordance with our backup cycles
- Information that has been anonymised or aggregated so that it no longer identifies the user
6. Subscriptions Are Not Automatically Cancelled by Account Deletion
Deleting an App account does not necessarily cancel an active subscription, especially where the subscription was purchased through Apple App Store, Google Play, Shopify or another third-party platform.
Users must cancel active subscriptions through the same platform or account through which the subscription was purchased, unless we expressly provide another cancellation method.
A user who deletes an account without cancelling an active subscription may continue to be charged by the relevant platform until the subscription is cancelled in accordance with that platform's rules.
Where possible, we may provide instructions or links to help users manage cancellation, but we do not control Apple, Google, Shopify or other third-party billing systems.
7. Effect on Credits, Downloads and Membership Benefits
Deleting an App account may permanently remove access to credits, downloads, VIP Drops, PRO content, saved guides, Project Helper allowances, member discounts, community features and other membership benefits.
Credits are not cash, stored value, gift cards or financial products. Unless required by applicable law, unused credits are not refundable, transferable, withdrawable or exchangeable for cash when an account is deleted.
Downloaded or accessed digital content remains subject to our Terms and Conditions of Use, Subscription and Credits rules, Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy and any applicable content licence even after account deletion.
8. Community Content and Public Visibility
Where a user has posted community content, uploaded project images, commented, participated in challenges or interacted with other users, deletion may involve removal, anonymisation or disassociation of that content from the account where technically feasible and legally appropriate.
Some community content may remain visible in anonymised or non-identifying form where removal would affect community integrity, challenge records, moderation history, dispute evidence, safety records or the rights of other users, unless applicable law requires deletion.
If the user uploaded content that infringes rights, breaches Community Guidelines or creates safety or legal concerns, we may retain relevant records as necessary to investigate, enforce rights, comply with law or protect users and the App.
9. Store-Connected Data and Order Records
The App may connect with The Secrets of Decoupage store, Shopify or other store systems. Account deletion in the App may not automatically delete all store, order, payment, shipping, tax or customer service records held in store systems where those records must be retained for lawful business, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, chargeback, shipping, refund, customer service or legal reasons.
Where a user requests deletion of store-connected personal data, we will consider the request in accordance with our Privacy Policy, applicable law and any legal obligations to retain transaction records.
Order and transaction information may be retained for the period required or permitted by applicable law, including accounting, tax, consumer protection and legal limitation periods.
10. Project Helper and Chat-Related Data
Where Project Helper or other chat features are used, deletion may remove or anonymise chat history linked to the deleted account where technically feasible and where we are not required to retain it for safety, abuse prevention, service integrity, legal compliance, moderation, debugging, quality control or dispute resolution.
We may retain limited records of harmful, abusive, fraudulent, unlawful, child-safety-related or policy-breaching chat activity where reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce our policies, comply with law or prevent repeated misuse.
11. Timing of Deletion
We aim to respond to valid account and data deletion requests within a reasonable period and, where applicable law requires a specific timeframe, within that required timeframe.
For many users, requests will be handled within 30 days. More complex requests may take longer where permitted by law, for example where verification is required, systems are complex, data is stored across different service providers, there are legal retention obligations, or the request is unusually broad.
Deletion from live systems may occur before deletion from encrypted or routine backup systems. Backup copies may remain until they are overwritten or deleted through normal backup cycles, provided that such backups are not used for ordinary business purposes.
12. Refusal, Delay or Limitation of Deletion
We may refuse, delay or limit deletion where lawful and reasonably necessary, including where:
- We cannot verify the person making the request
- The request is fraudulent, abusive, excessive, repetitive or technically impossible to fulfil in the requested form
- We must retain records for tax, accounting, consumer protection, legal, safety, regulatory or platform compliance reasons
- The data is needed to investigate or defend legal claims, chargebacks, complaints, intellectual property disputes or policy breaches
- The data is needed to protect children, users, community safety, service security or App integrity
- The data relates to a pending order, refund, dispute, chargeback, subscription, delivery, moderation case or safety report
- Deletion would adversely affect the rights or safety of another person
13. Regional Privacy Rights
Users in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States, Canada, Australia and other jurisdictions may have legal rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, transfer or receive information about personal data, depending on applicable law.
This Policy is intended to support those rights, but the exact scope of each right depends on the law that applies to the user and to the data processing activity.
Nothing in this Policy limits mandatory privacy rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Reactivation and New Accounts
Once an account deletion request has been completed, the account may not be recoverable. We do not guarantee that deleted profiles, credits, downloads, community posts, Project Helper history, saved content or membership benefits can be restored.
If a user later creates a new account, the new account may not include any previous credits, downloads, purchase history, community profile, VIP/PRO benefits or App activity unless we expressly agree or unless the relevant platform automatically reconnects certain purchase information.
15. Deletion Requests for Minors
The App is intended for users aged 16 or over. If we become aware that an account has been created by a user under the minimum permitted age, we may delete or restrict the account and associated personal data, subject to legal and safety retention obligations.
Parents, guardians or legally authorised representatives may contact us if they believe a minor has created an account or shared personal data through the App. We may request verification before taking action.
16. How to Contact Us

Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to make the updated Policy available in the App or on our website. Continued use of the App after an updated Policy takes effect will be handled in accordance with our Terms and Conditions of Use and applicable law.
